Orhan Kemal Cengiz

Orhan Kemal Cengiz is a Turkish lawyer, journalist and human rights activist.

He graduated in law from the University of Ankara in 1993. In 1996, he became the director of the Human Rights Center of the İzmir Bar Association. Between 1997 and 1998, he practiced human rights law in London. Cengiz, who has been an advocate for minority rights for many years, is the founder of the Human Rights Agenda Association and served as its president from 2003 to 2012. He is an advisory board member of the Freedom Research Association. Center.

He wrote for now-defunct newspapers ''Today's Zaman'' and ''Radikal''. After threats were made to his life in 2008 for his work on the Malatya Bible murder case, he asked for and eventually received a bodyguard. His request was supported by Amnesty International.

In February 2016 he was a speaker at the Geneva Summit for Human Rights and Democracy.

He has written books and reports in the field of human rights law. Additionally, he is the author of the novels Tree of Hope (Umut Ağacı), Song of the Shadow (Gölgenin Şarkısı), and Best Actor (En İyi Oyuncu). Provided by Wikipedia
